A lame man leaping like a deer. A mute person breaking out in songs of joy. These are like modern day public service announcements broadcasting announcements of hope, a paradigmatic shift in circumstances, the opening up of new possibilities—simply not possible under prior circumstances, a complete turnaround in a set of affairs that govern the outcome of a situation that impacts lives forever, for all of us.
Shouts of joy are public outcries that signal hope for all, even if they are experienced personally. For those waiting for change, these are a sign and foretaste of enduring joy to come.
Unfortunately, today in many places around the world shouts of rage and mourning appear to overshadow those of joy. As creatives therefore we are called to make a lasting difference in the soul of humanity and the heart of creation-at-large, to bring about a healing and take tangible steps toward a complete restoration.
