Voicing vulnerability, vantage viewability

DCAN (Durham Congregation Associations and Neighborhoods) brings together multiple perspectives to listen and to give voice to those experiencing injustice and thereby to solicit the power of community toward delivering sustainable solutions for ensuring truth and justice in the city of Durham, North Carolina, USA. Wonderful to be part of this movement.

Innovation indeed is a team effort. There has to be more than one person asking the hard questions. It is going to take focused investigation from multiple vantage points to create a net for viability—the evaluation of it, the plausibility of prototypes or options. However, along with viability we need viewability, which is critical transparency or vulnerability between creators for ultimate good—to bring out the best in oneself, each other, and from each scenario of contexts.

Consider,

Along with our best selves, are we bringing along our true selves to every decision in the creative process? This means not necessarily agreeing with everything, but also, denying ourselves and deferring to others’ evaluation of our personalities and motivations, considering others better than ourselves.
