Testing for quality assurance is a regular part of most production processes. More than testing, however, we are concerned with the goal of such testing, which is to refine our ability to create.
Many of us learn to give and to receive helpful critique. It’s a process. Who you ask, matters! It takes courage to open our hearts and minds to the world and say, “prove me wrong!” It’s easier when you know the person you ask offers an unbiased opinion. It’s even better when you know that your critic has your best in mind; that motives are pure. Testing of creativity can be compared to testing gold by fire. Not all critique is helpful. Likewise, all fires are not equal. But good fires test the strength of our creative mettle to endure. Let’s search for good fires.
Consider,
Whom might we trust for helpful critique of our creative abilities? Is there someone we can trust completely without hesitation and whose motives are pure?
