Why do we speak of the enduring social nature of creativity? Why is it not enough to speak of it merely in terms of individual prowess and preference? A thought: because creativity is a generational characteristic of those who are bound together by a liberated imagination. It is shared and passed on through familial ties, a commitment common to those who seek excellence, a generation seeking, soaking, sowing, and sharing for the greater good, often at great personal cost.
Consider,
What would it be like to break with unhealthy traditions of so-called creativity that we might have “inherited” from others or that were imposed upon us via the social conditions into which we were brought up, and rather, take our place among those who seek creativity expressed in terms of equity and beauty and truth? With the latter there is healing and hope. Why settle for any less?
