Victory on the battlefield is no match for a meal with friends. Two very different scenarios that could serve as visual metaphors for what really brings meaning to our everyday lives. If you had to pick one to choose to live by, which one would it be?
“Everything I have learned was received by sitting at the table with people who remind me time and again that I’m not a powerless combatant trying to win (regardless of the cost), but an empowered co-creator contributing to the soil of life while surrendering as an embedded seed willing to grow.” — Travis

All of us love to sit at a table that has been prepared by the loving heart and hands of a gracious host. Could it be that each day we live, every time we step out into the world, we are being hosted to savor and enjoy the table abundance spread before our very eyes by our Gracious Host? Not to greedily consume, although taking delight is on the menu—it’s a daily special.
Issues to do with how we care for our environment or treat others all start with our fellowship at this primary Table; it’s where we learn table manners—the Spirit of Table Fellowship. Once we dine at this table we each are free to go our own way with the taste of goodness still lingering in our mouths. The aroma of truth however never fades. Memories may fade away and seasons come and go. But the Table remains.
Consider,
What might it be like to choose to be a part of the beautiful and enduring work of the Gracious Host today? Do it.
