The hand that holds the mirror

The hand that holds the mirror…that could make all the difference in what we see and how we choose to see.

How well does what we create communicate what we truly stand for?

Brand names signify purpose. They communicate value. Brands are tested for the their credibility over time by the consumers of a given product. Any discrepancy between product brand and actual performance is not to be tolerated, at least in a consumer-driven market.

As creatives, we share in the authentication of the Creator’s brand image upon us and through us. The work we produce needs to bear witness to the credibility of Creativity. This is not something that we fabricate but it is something that we are called and compelled to embody and to communicate, standards and values that may not be compromised by the creator nor by others who share in the work via purchase or appreciation.

Consider,

The work we produce, is it not a sharing in the work of the Creator through us? We often like to receive credit for the good work we do. Likewise, what might it look like to give the Creator credit for the good work the Creator accomplishes in you, and all creation?

When the Creator holds up the mirror, I like to think the Creator sees me, each one of us, and the Creator’s own self in the reflection. It was never just me. It was never about me, merely. But my/our creative brand image is much bigger and more profound than what people can ever really see and know. That’s a secret worth sharing.
