The nine-stage pathway

From discernment to embodied practice and continuing stewardship.

One stage is foregrounded each month. Earlier practices continue as the work develops, so the pathway functions as an integrated journey rather than nine disconnected lessons.

01
Introduction and Preparation
Clarify the concern, establish a learning plan, begin a process portfolio, and identify the context in which the work will be tested.
02
Being and Discernment
Attend to identity before God, name what lies beneath the presenting problem, and form a grounded statement of redemptive hope.
03
Community and Covenant
Identify who belongs in the work, establish covenant commitments, map stakeholders, and frame an initial shared challenge.
04
Beauty and Cultivation
Explore how environments, practices, and forms can tell the truth, extend grace, cultivate imagination, and support participation.
05
Design and Examination
Examine relationships, rhythms, resources, structures, feasibility, risk, and responsibility before fuller enactment.

06
Performance and Embodiment
Put the work into visible, accountable practice; learn across difference; document what occurs rather than relying on intention alone.
07
Integration and Translation
Gather feedback, interpret resistance and unintended consequences, and distinguish core commitments from forms that must be re-rooted.
08
Commissioning and Sending
Develop a sustainability or entrustment plan, identify what can be shared, and mark the transition into continuing stewardship.

09
Conclusion and Consolidation
Complete the culminating contribution, curate the portfolio, and name limitations, learning, and next commitments.
