It’s interesting to contemplate how the Creator conceptualized and ultimately gave expression to the Sun, the Moon, Stars, galaxies inconceivable, space, time, gravity, nature—trees, oceans, animals, and birds. And ultimately to crown it all humans are created in the image and likeness of the Creator.
When the Creator hits the “send” button…I am speechless. When I create, the few words I type, or the few notes that I string together, or brushstrokes on a canvas, can it ever capture the, the, the____ of even the smallest thing in nature, the texture of a gnat’s wing (if they have wings)? I find that I come up short. Yet for the Creator, “Day to day pours out speech, and night to night reveals knowledge” (Psalm 19:2). It seems like the greatest thing I could ever do with my creativity is to create something that points others to the Creator, to be privileged to offer people a chance to contemplate on what true excellence in creativity can look and feel like. If what I create, as a creative, points others to the excellencies of the Creator, then that’s the greatest thing that I could ever do. For isn’t that what Christ did on the Cross?
So, when I hit the send button on this, it’s nice to receive the “likes” from people, but ultimately I have decided that for me, my greatest Like comes from the Creator who “liked” (okay, loved) me from before the foundations of the world and creates me in the Creator’s image and likeness. So, here goes.
Consider,
Stop and stare into the sky, or look deeply into the patterns on a leaf or flower. But don’t stop there. Be reminded of how you are created—created in excellence, for excellence, perfected in the ultimate work of the Creator…. And then, hit that “send” button! Now, that’s an offering for the Creator to use in unimaginable ways that go beyond what you or others can ever comprehend. It’s a bit like open Source (S caps). Everyone benefits!
